ABOUT

Originally from Merseyside, Olivia Rose Tringham is a Soprano currently training as a Young Artist on the Global Talent Programme at the National Opera Studio (NOS), London. So far at NOS, she performed opera scenes as Donna Elvira Don Giovanni (Mozart), Elisabetta Maria Stuarda (Donizetti) for Opera Scenes with Welsh National Opera, and Cleopatra Anthony & Cleopatra (Barber), Portia Merchant of Venice (Tchaikowsky), Player Queen Hamlet (Searle) and the title role of Perdita in the world premiere of the early work by Dorothy Howell. 

 

Professionally,  Olivia joined the Grange Park Opera Chorus for summers 2022-24, and in 2023 she played 

Prima Sorella Cercatrice in their recording of Suor Angelica. Olivia was a 2021 Buxton International Festival (BIF) Young Artist, performing as Mrs Segstrom A Little Night Music and as a soloist in a range of concerts. She also returned to BIF in 2023 to give the recital Colour my Song featuring music by BAME composers. In summer 2021, she performed Donna Elvira for ALLO Opera’s recording of Don Giovanni. Olivia also recently played Rosalinde Die Fledermaus with Opera for Woodbridge 2022, and returned in to play Countess Almaviva Le nozze di Figaro in 2024.

 

Olivia has worked with local orchestras and choral societies, performing Elgar’s Sea Pictures (Burnley Orchestra), Canteloube’s  Chants D’Auvergne (Todmorden Orchestra), Goodall’s Eternal Light (Doncaster Choral Society), Handel’s Messiah (Doncaster Choral Society) and Verdi’s Requiem (London Sinfonietta and Slough Philharmonic). 

 

Olivia is a Masters graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM), studying with Linda Richardson. At RNCM, Olivia played Mère Marie Dialogues des Carmélites (Poulenc), La Suora Infermiera Suor Angelica (Puccini), Sally A Hand of Bridge (Barber), Fanny Price Mansfield Park (Dove), Prima Donna Ariadne auf Naxos (Strauss) and Rosalinde Die Fledermaus (J Strauss). “Olivia Tringham shone grandiosely as Rosalinde. Her warm soprano rolled effortlessly over Strauss’s score, […] and she’s a genuinely good comic actress.” (Reviewer Number 9)

 

Olivia performed in opera scenes such as Alice Falstaff (Verdi), Miss Jessel Turn of the Screw (Britten) and Elettra Idomeneo (Mozart). She was also chosen for a number high profile concerts, such as the world premier of Wigglesworth's Magnificat with the Bergen Filharmoniske Orkester, Norway and was the RNCM representative in the Clonter Opera Prize 2023. Whilst at the RNCM, Olivia was extremely proud to be a Drake Calleja Scholar (22-23) and to have received the Dame Eva Turner Award. 

Olivia holds many teaching and conducting posts, leading adults, children and young people alike. She has regularly worked with Stagecoach Northwich, Holy Innocents Church of England Fallowfield and East Cheshire's Musical Theatre Company. With ECMTC, Olivia project-managed, taught and conducted the successful Classical Crossover series, aiming to showcase the accessibility of classical music to musical theatre singers and audience members.
